National Library Week
The National Library Week is organized and held by Armenian Library Association since 2002. This extensive annual event is held between 10th and 20th of April. The purpose is to once again underline the role importance of the books and libraries for the sake of societal development. At the same time it draws the attention of the state to solving the modern library problems. All libraries of the republic participate in the Library Week, by holding different events like celebrations, book presentations and discussions, meetings, literary and theatrical matinees, exhibitions, book donations etc – according to a specially conducted program.
Day of Libarians
Since 2004, upon decision by the Armenian government, the October 7 is officially celebrated as the Librarian's Day. The purpose of the event is to underline the role of the book, the knowledge, the libraries and the librarians in the era of modern technologies. On this day different very different event take place: round tables, literary matinees, library issues discussions, meeting of the notorious representatives of the academic, cultural, literary occupation, as well as encouragement ceremonies of the best librarians.  Meanwhile, during the year seminars, professional trainings, academic conferences and lectures (2-4 times per year) for the librarians of the Republic are organized and implemented highlighting the role of the librarians in our society the whole year.
Library and Information Week
Library and Information Week is an annual campaign run by ALIA, promoting libraries and the work of library and information professionals. It takes place at the end of May. AT 11am, on the Wednesday of the week, we hold National Simultaneous Storytime, with one children's picture book chosen for a nationwide reading event. In 2018, there were more than 1 million participants in Australia and New Zealand.
ALIA Information Online
ALIA Information Online Conference is the biggest event in an information professional's calendar. The conference has been held since 1990 and attracts in the region of 1000 influential professionals from all sectors of the library industry. The conference program has a multi-sector focus and provides a unique opportunity for organisations to promote and showcase their products and services to a targeted and influential delegate group. Information Online gives access to key library and information service professionals from Australia, New Zealand, Asia Pacific, and beyond.This conference takes place every two years (next in 2019), in February, in Sydney.
ALIA National Conference
ALIA National Conference provides the platform as a meeting point for all library and information professionals, from all sectors and all areas of Australia and the international community. It takes place every two years (next in 2020), around mid-year. It moves from city to city. In 2018, the National Conference was replaced by the Asia-Pacific Library and Information Conference, on Queensland's Gold Coast, in partnership with LIANZA and the Library Association of Singapore.
Day of Librarians / Dia del Bibliotecario Boliviano
30th of June was approved by Ministerial Resolution No. 511/2007 of the Ministry of Labour and Labour Development as the Day of Librarians in Bolivia. It is being celebrated by all librarians throughout the country every year.
National Congress of Library, Documentation, Archival and Museology Sciences / Congreso Nacional de Bibliotecología, Documentación, Archivística y Museología
This national level event is organised by the College of Information Science Professionals (College of Professionals in Information Sciences of Bolivia, CPCIB). It takes place every other year and brings together all workers and professionals of the field.
International Congress of Library, Documentation, Archival and Museology Sciences / Congreso Internacional de Bibliotecología, Documentación, Archivística y Museología CIBDA
This international event is organised by the College of Information Science Professionals (College of Professionals in Information Sciences of Bolivia, CPCIB). It takes place every other year in the La Paz city. It brings together workers and professionals from neighboring countries and the entire region for a three-day meeting.
National Librarians’ Day
May 11th is the professional holiday of librarians in Bulgaria. First celebrated in 2006, it recognizes the work and the achievements of Bulgarian librarians and their contributions to literacy, education and research, advance of culture, life-long learning and development.
National Library Week
This is an advocacy campaign of the Bulgarian Library and Information Association (BLIA). During the Week, librarians meet with local authorities, NGOs, and with the citizens enhancing the visibility of their libraries in the community, promoting their achievements and highlighting the significance of local support. At the national level, BLIA organizes hearings at the National Assembly and meetings with representatives of government agencies. BLIA invites as speakers internationally acknowledged personalities who are champions for the role of libraries. The major event is the official launch of the campaign that features a keynote speaker presentation and BLIA annual awards ceremony.
Canadian Library Month
Canada celebrates Canadian Library Month every October. This month-long event highlights the importance of libraries in Canadian communities, schools, and academic institutions. Organized by the Canadian Federation of Library Associations (CFLA) and regional library associations, the goal is to raise awareness about the value of libraries and the role they play in education, literacy, and cultural preservation. Activities during the month include special programs, author readings, workshops, and community events that showcase library services.
Canadian Library Workers Day
Each year, the 3rd Friday of October the month is marked as Canadian Library Workers Day.
