Biblis en folie Once a year, first week of October. The national days dedicated to libraries enabled visitors to (re)discover the wealth of services offered by these local facilities, reinforcing their role as a crossroads for culture and inclusion. View Info ABF annual Congress Three days dedicated to professional meetings, conferences, workshops etc. and a trade show open to traditional or digital publishers, schools, libraries, professional associations, suppliers of furniture, management systems or other solutions useful to libraries. Every year, ABF organises 2 or 3 national study days, and some are also organised by the regions. ADBGV annual Conference Three days of conferences, workshops and forums on topics related to departmental libraries. ABD annual Conference Three days of conferences, workshops and forums on topics related to departmental libraries. ADBU annual Congress During 2,5 days some 500 congress participants and nearly 70 exhibitors. This event, which brings together the world of Higher Education and Research, is punctuated by conferences, workshops and events on a strong and topical theme. APDEN meetings APDEN regularly organises professional meetings for teacher-documentalists at national and regional level. Carel Network's annual study day Carel Network organises an annual study day on electronic resources on a thematic basis (books, self-study resources, press, etc.). Consortium COUPERIN’s study days Consortium COUPERIN’s study days are held several times a year and deal with current issues of access to electronic resources in libraries. Digital Reference Libraries Days Two days, organised by the Ministry of Culture, dedicated to digital projects in libraries. Interregional federation for books and reading (FILL) Each regional structure for books organises annual meetings between libraries and, where appropriate, other book-related professions. Library research news day An annual study day organized by the Public Library of Information (Bpi) and national school of information and library sciences (ENSSIB) on the latest research related to the world of libraries. National Higher Education Library Trainers' Days Organised each year by the Pedagogy and Documentation Commission of ADBU in partnership with a library of a higher education and research institution, they are times for study and reflection, but also for the exchange of practices. Professional days of the Bibliothèque nationale de France (BnF) Throughout the year, BnF offers study days and times for professional meetings for the "associated poles" around digitalisation or around the youth sections of the public libraries. Professional days of the public library of information (Bpi) Throughout the year the Bpi organises, in partnership with public libraries, study days and times for professional meetings focusing mainly on social cohesion but also on other themes (video games, documentary cinema, remote question-answer service, music, etc.). Professional Events
The Day of Librarian & the Library Week The Day of Librarian is celebrated annually on 30 April. It is followed by the Library Week with events across the entire country. The main events include library training sessions, a library conference, and the Library Day celebration, among others.
Library and Information Week (LIW)
This national event was started in the year 2013 and it is a yearly one week event in the month of September. It is usually celebrated as a national event in a region and other libraries also celebrate the week alone side. The main goal is to highlight a topical need in the country as well as drawing attention to libraries and librarians. There are talk shows on radio and television, there is a national launch with speech by the President of the Association and the rest of the days used to engage school pupils and students in reading activities.
Annual General Meeting with a Seminar
The event takes place every year in a selected region for a day. It usually rotates among the 10 regions. The main goal is to give account of activities for the year by the elected executives headed by the President to members. During the period professional and academic papers are presented by some members on the theme for the meeting. The papers are discussed and later published in the Ghana Library Journal.
Biennial Congress
This event takes place every other year in a selected region for two days. It usually rotates among the 10 regions. The main goal is to give account of activities for the year by the elected executives headed by the President to members and to re-elect or elect a new Council for a tenure of two years. During the period professional and academic papers are presented by some members on the theme for the meeting. The papers are discussed and later published in the Ghana Library Journal.
Panhellinic Conference of Academic Libraries
The annual Panhellenic Conference of Academic Libraries, held since 1992, is one of the most important events for the Greek academic libraries and the most significant one in the areas of Library Information Services, Library Automation, Books and Periodicals, Library Equipment and Information Technologies. Librarians, members of the academic community and suppliers are given the opportunity to broaden their knowledge, to communicate with other colleagues, to syndicate and exchange views and experiences, to be informed about new developments and trends in the Academic Libraries’ products and services. Each year one of the Greek academic libraries is responsible for hosting the event.
International Conference on Information and Libraries
The conference is held by the Library and House of Manuscripts of Al-Abbas Holy Shrine every two years in February. It focuses on enhancing cooperation among  specialists in the field of libraries and information, in particular, and cooperation in technical operations related to standards and rules for descriptive cataloging and lists of subject headings. The goal is to develop solutions and proposals for problems faced by Arab libraries as well as exchange experiences and ideas to enhance the professional development of librarians and promote scientific and technical collaboration among them.
Hebrew Book Week
Israel has held an annual national Hebrew Book Week for thee past 57 years at dozens of locations throughout the country, including libraries. Each location provides a variety of cultural events including meetings with authors, lectures, live musical performances plus events and activities for children and young adults including live performances based on classic children's literature.
INFO Conference and Exhibition
The annual INFO Conference and Exhibition is Israel's most prestigious professional information event for over three decades. It stands for the values of the Israeli information community for creating change and empowering individuals and organizations. The conference attracts all leading information providers including academic libraries, the medical community, cooperates and government institutions, and international publishers. It serves as a central meeting place for all participants in Israel's information market for listening, learning and gaining access to the latest information in the field.
MULTIYEDA Conference
The Israeli Center for Libraries produces an annual conference for librarians and information specialists. It is one of the most important in its field in Israel, with multimedia displays and exhibitions from around the world. It is an important opportunity to exchange of information and share personal experiences. Lecturers include renowned professionals from Israel and abroad such as academics, writers and poets, public figures and businessmen. This annual conference is intended for all professionals and specialists working in libraries, information centers and archives, including colleges, universities, research institutes, the army, public libraries, bloggers and researchers.
Library Memorial Day
On 30 April 1950, the "Library Law" was promulgated. Based on the spirit of social education, the purpose of the "Library Law" is to establish necessary matters concerning the establishment and operation of public libraries, to promote their sound development, and thereby to contribute to the development of education and culture of the people. This law clarified the function of public libraries as a service, made them free of charge in principle, and ushered in an era of truly modern public libraries in Japan. In 1971, "Library Memorial Day" was decided at the National Library Convention, and since the following year 1972, the Japan Library Association has been implementing it.
All-Japan Library Conference
Japan Library Association (JLA) holds the “All-Japan Library Conference” for all librarians since 1906. In October 2022, JLA held the 108th conference in Gunma Prefecture.
