Headquartered in Paris, the AIFBD is an international association dedicated to the networking of French-speaking librarians and documentalists, and to promoting them in their professional environment.

APDEN brings together librarians in secondary schools and higher education.

BiblioPat is an association whose aim is to promote the dissemination of information relating to the management of heritage collections in libraries.

BNF empowers vulnerable populations in foreign countries by facilitating their access to education, culture and information.

CFIBD brings together other associations, institutions and professionals involved internationally. It encourages, through scholarships, professionals to attend international meetings and organises events in France around personalities from the world of libraries.

FILL brings together the regional book agencies whose mission is to support all the players in the book sector in a region through training, projects, professional meetings and support in applying for subsidies. Its missions are: -    to promote regional book and reading policies at national level, -    to encourage and enrich dialogue between elected representatives responsible for culture, the cultural departments of the Regions, Departments and the State, national institutions, cultural bodies and all professionals in the sector, -    to stimulate and lead the debate on access to books and reading by proposing pragmatic and innovative solutions, -    to unite the players in the sector. It brings together the regional book agencies which provide training, projects, publications, professional meetings and support in applying for subsidies.

IB supports professionals, provides training, organises study days, produces resources, organises Documentary Film Month, manages a film selection committee and runs the Cinémathèque du documentaire network.

ADBS brings together fifteen professional sectors in a Sector Council, nineteen regional groups in a Council of Regions and six commissions and working groups. A large proportion of its members come from the private sector.

The Georgia Library Association (GLA), founded in 2000, is a non-profit union with 150 member libraries. The GLA's mission is to provide leadership in empowering and supporting library and information professionals, and the diverse library community. GLA promotes professional growth, fosters innovation, creativity, expertise, and advocacy that advances and sustains library services throughout the state of Georgia.

Fields of interest covers every area of the library profession. The goal is to be the official voice of the profession. The objective is to unify librarians and information professionals, seeking their professional development and welfare and ensuring the maintenance of standards and ethics. There are over 500 members. Broad areas of concerns are lack of a national library, commission on libraries, strong united library front and recognition.

The Association of Greek Librarians and Information Scientists (established in 1968) is the scientific and professional association that represents professional librarians in Greece. Its main objectives include promotion of library science and the recognition of the role of librarian, application of professional ethics; promotion of development and modernisation of libraries in Greece; professional development of librarians through conferences, workshops and meetings; upgrading libraries and modernising their technologies; evaluation and utilisation of the wealth of information and making the media accessible to all citizens.

The Iraqi association for libraries, information and documentation professionals is responsible for organising and representing students and professionals in library and information sciences in Iraq by developing, promoting and providing high-quality library and information services to the nation through administration, mutual professional support and professional update as well as collecting research and conducting scientific studies in the field of libraries and information, the development of scientific thought and library literature and work to develop, revitalise and publish it.
