Costa Rican Association of Librarians, COPROBI / Colegio de Profesionales en Bibliotecología de Costa Rica (COPROBI)
COPROBI is a professional association recognized nationally and internationally consisting of groups of responsible and committed librarians to provide society with greater and better opportunities to access sources, resources and information services. There are around 1,500 members from different types of libraries.
Cuban Association of Librarians / Asociación Cubana de Bibliotecarios (ASCUBI)
ASCUBI objectives are to contribute to the enrichment of culture, reading and the increase of national consciousness about the role of libraries as fundamental elements for the development of the person, the community and the people in general. It has more than 3200 members. Its main activities are the celebration of professional events, activities, courses, professional development workshops and professional work meetings. The areas of concern are aimed at achieving a united library sector, the promotion and defence of the profession, as well as contribution to the UN 2030 agenda and the National Development Plan.
Cuban Society of Information Sciences / SOCICT, Sociedad Cubana de Ciencias de la Información
SOCICT is a technical-professional society of national character, with legal personality and its own patrimony that brings together professionals, technicians and students linked to the Information Sciences.
National Association of Librarians – Information Scientists (CALIS) / Kypriaki Enosi Vivliothikonomon - Epistimonon Pliroforisis (KEVEP)
The association's activities are run by few active members who intervene each time library issues arise in Parliament or in state affairs. CALIS advocate on behalf of libraries to convince all institutions that all libraries need to be staffed with professionals, to convince the State that the situation of the National Library is critical, needing modern premises, modern technology, more staff, and a bigger budget.
Association of Library and Information Professionals of the Czech Republic / Svaz knihovníků a informačních pracovníků České republiky (SKIP)
Founded in 1990, SKIP is a voluntary professional organization of librarians and information professionals. The mission of SKIP is an effort to constantly improve the standards of library and information services, increase professional prestige and establish suitable conditions for the development and activities of libraries and information centres. SKIP has about 1500 individual and institutional members. It is organized regionally. Specialized activities are handled by sections such as that for public libraries, by clubs such as that for children's libraries, and by commissions such as commissions for legislation, publishing, automation, and international contacts. SKIP is a member of IFLA.
The Czech Republic Libraries Association / Sdružení knihoven ČR (SDRUK)
Founded in 1992, the Czech Republic Libraries Association unites public, research, special and university libraries. Currently it has 60 members, including the largest libraries in the Czech Republic (National Library of the Czech Republic, 13 central regional libraries, the Municipal Library of Prague). This association represents organizations, legal entities, but not individual members. Professional activities take place within sections dedicated to bibliography, historical collections, information technologies, regional functions, acquisition, services, PR and marketing, information education for library users. SDRUK organizes professional events such as seminars and conferences for librarians, training and expert meetings and publishes professional publications.
Association of Libraries of Czech Universities (ALCU) / Asociace knihoven vysokých škol ČR (AKVŠ)
ALCU unites academic libraries in the Czech Republic, currently it has 24 member universities. The main objectives are as follows: to promote, develop and support academic libraries in the Czech Republic; to represent academic libraries during negotiations about State Information Policy and the national library system; to advocate for university libraries and facilitate their negotiations with information providers in order to improve opportunities for cost-efficient purchase and licensing of electronic information resources; to provide a platform for collaboration and partnership in various areas of interests on both national and international levels.
Association of Departmental Librarians / Association des bibliothécaires départementaux (ABD)
Through an annual congress, the association promotes exchanges and reflection between departmental libraries.
French Librarians Association / Association des bibliothécaires français (ABF)
ABF is open to all but brings together a majority of librarians working in public libraries. It is organised in regional groups and commissions, publishes a journal and organises an annual conference.
Association for the cooperation of music information professionals / Association pour la coopération des professionnels de l’information musicale (ACIM)
ACIM's aim is to promote the dissemination of music documentation everywhere, especially in libraries and public institutions, and to take part in all forms of cooperation between organisations responsible for collecting, processing, preserving and disseminating music documentation.

Association of Directors and Senior Staff of University Libraries / Association française des directeurs et personnels de direction des bibliothèques universitaires et de la documentation (ADBU)
ADBU brings together management staff with documentary responsibilities in an institution with activities related to higher education, public research and the training of documentation professionals. ADBS is in regular contact with the Ministry of Higher Education and has five commissions: steering, pedagogy, professions, research and digital.
