Culture Information Systems Centre (CISC) / Kult?ras inform?cijas sist?mu centrs (KISC)
The Culture Information Systems Centre was founded in 1997 as the library consortium aiming at implementation of the State Unified Libraries Information System to connect eight libraries of the national importance in one network. The areas of operation of the CISC were later expanded to other heritage and memory institutions including archives and museums. Now, the CISC is the implementing agency under the Ministry of Culture and is responsible for implementation of all national technology, software development, capacity building and training programmes in the field of archives, libraries and museums, including the implementation of public library development project “Father’s Third Son” (2006-2013).
The National Library of Latvia Foundation / Latvijas Nacionālās bibliotēkas Atbalsta biedrība
The Foundation plays a significant role in fundraising and supporting the National Library of Latvia and all public libraries throughout Latvia. It is a non-profit, public benefit organization established in 1998. For over 20 years, the Foundation has organised charitable events and projects, reaching out to donors with the aim to support the development and modernisation of public libraries, to enrich their collections, popularise reading and the use of library space. The Foundation has raised over 2 million euros in donations, and the nameplates of the most generous donors are placed throughout the National Library of Latvia: on chairs, tables and shelves in the reading rooms or on the Donors’ Wall in the Lobby.

Oral History Association of Malaysia / Persatuan Sejarah Lisan Malaysia
Persatuan Sejarah Lisan Malaysia or the Oral History Association of Malaysia was established in 2013. The objectives of the association are to:
  • Act as the basis of a collaborative network with other agencies to conduct oral history studies in Malaysia.
  • Organise courses on how to conduct oral history research.
  • Promote the documentation of oral history in Malaysia.
  • Develop a code of practice for oral history.
  • Create a database of oral history experts and studies that have been and are being conducted.
  • Promote the awareness and importance of oral history.
The members of the association are historians, lecturers, librarians, university students and those who are interested in oral history. To date, the association has organised various workshops, conferences, and webinars.
Rural Education and Development (READ) Nepal / रिड (ग्रामीण शिक्षा र विकास) नेपाल (READ Nepal)
READ Nepal was founded in 1991, under the headship of Dr. Antonia Neubauer, with the sole purpose of bringing books to a rural community in Nepal. Over the years, it has grown and flourished into a network of strong, self-supporting CLRCs that have the potential to bring about positive socio-economic transformation in their working communities. READ has its roots in Nepal, where their first office opened in 1991 after a rural villager told the READ founder that all he wanted for his village was a library. Since then, READ has opened READ Centres across the country, offering training programs in livelihood skills, literacy, health, and technology.
The Asia Foundation – Nepal / एशिया फाउण्डेशन - नेपाल
The Foundation supports Nepal’s efforts to strengthen subnational governance, mitigate conflict, empower women, expand economic opportunity, increase environmental resilience, and promote regional cooperation. The Foundation’s Books for Asia program continues to support the expansion of English language readership in Nepal, helping to advance professional knowledge and build research and vocational skills among children and young adults. In 2016, the government of Nepal and the Ministry of Education honoured Books for Asia as the “Best Institution of the Year” for its donations to libraries across the country. In 2016, the program distributed 25,226 books in English and Nepali to 228 organizations, including educational institutions, non-profit organizations, government agencies, public libraries, resource centres, and training institutes in 37 districts of Nepal.
Room to Read Nepal / रुम टु रिड, नेपाल
Room to Read Nepal is the only organisation in the country that focuses on literacy and gender equality in education. They collaborate closely with the Ministry of Education and the National Curriculum and Development Board to implement Literacy and Girls’ Education Programs. Room to Read Forms Basis for National Reading Program. Nepal became Room to Read’s first country of operation with one school library book delivery. After the 2015 earthquakes, Room to Read joined the government to lead recovery efforts in education infrastructure. The organisation invested $5,000,000 in reconstructing 700 classrooms across 62 schools, restoring damaged libraries, and implementing our Girls’ Education and Literacy Programs.
Manaram Foundation 2005 Nepal / मनराम प्रतिष्ठान-२००५, नेपाल
According to the Organisation Registration Act, 2034, Lions Manaram Foundation 2005 is a non-government social organisation as of Nepal Bikram Sambat 2068 Bhadra registered in District Administration Office, Kathmandu. Its mission includes building a library in each of the 75 districts of Nepal. Today, the foundation has been able to build libraries in 134 community schools in all 77 districts of Nepal. In addition, the Foundation also cooperates with the District Education Office along with various government and non-government offices to eliminate illiteracy in Sankhuwasabha district, the Eastern Hilly district of Nepal.
The Dutch consortium of university libraries and the National Library of The Netherlands / Samenwerkingsverband van Nederlandse universiteitsbibliotheken en de Koninklijke Bibliotheek, UKB
The partnership of university libraries and the National Library supports and accelerates scientific progress by distributing, concentrating, and connecting mutual expertise in national and international networks. It consists of thirteen university libraries and the National Library. The main collaboration takes place in the field of developing a shared vision of the library as a learning and working environment; the development of expertise in the field of educational support; securing sustainable access to information; facilitating open science; and where possible systems and infrastructure are shared.
The WSWB Libraries (Werkgroep speciale wetenschappelijke bibliotheken / Special scientific libraries working group) represents the interests of special scientific libraries. The foundation supports the 31 participating libraries in the management of their collections, which are of (great) importance for the promotion of both the sciences and the arts and culture in the Netherlands. The foundation does this by, among other things, concluding (license) contracts, granting access to the collections of the libraries participating in the WSWB to third parties, by making the (often unique) collections of the WSWB libraries visible within (international) networks and through the exchange of knowledge in areas specific to the specialized scientific libraries.
