The National Librarianship Council (NLC) is an advisory body of the he Ministry of Education, Culture and Research of the Republic of Moldova, which contributes to the elaboration of regulatory acts in the field of libraries, ensures the national unity in librarianship, carries out actions to coordinate and co-operate the activities of institutions in the national libraries system.
Presidential Grants Foundation / Fond prezidentskix grantov
Presidential Grants Foundation serves as the operator of presidential grants for the development of civil society. It is involved in the following activities: providing support for projects of non-profit organizations in the fields of culture, art, science, and education; providing social services, support and citizen protection; preservation of historical heritage; providing support for youth projects; identifying and supporting new talents; developing civil society, etc. Libraries are one of the beneficiaries of those grants.
National Electronic Information Consortium (NEICON) / Naczional`ny`j E`lektronno-Informaczionny`j Konsorczium (NE`IKON)
NEICON is an organization whose main goal is to provide access to Russian periodicals, universities, institutes to scientific periodic information in electronic form. National and central regional public libraries as well as academic and special libraries partner with the Consortium.
This non-profit organisation provides voluntary assistance to schools by providing books and additional materials.
Juma AlMajid Centre for Culture and Heritage / مركز جمعة الماجد للثقافة والتراث
The Juma AlMajid Centre for Culture and Heritage was established in 1992 with the full support of His Excellency Juma AlMajid to be a scientific charitable organization of public interest concerned with culture and heritage. Work in the centre began with the acquisition and preservation of cultural vessels of various forms for cataloguing and classification. So that there is a comprehensive library of humanities, Islamic and Arabic sciences that students and researchers can benefit from. The centre houses a rare collection of original and illustrated manuscripts, university theses, historical and political documents, and old and rare periodicals. The Juma AlMajid Centre for Culture and Heritage plays a major role in supporting libraries and their staff in a variety of ways.
Emirates Reprographic Rights Management Association / جمعية الإمارات لإدارة حقوق النسخ
The Emirates Reprographic Rights Management Association (ERRA) is a non-profit association that represents Emirati and foreign publishers and authors. It is responsible for managing the copyrights of copied literary works that have been contractually transferred to the Society. The ERRA assists educational institutions and various organizations by re-licensing the use of printed and digital works. It focuses on raising awareness of the importance of intellectual property rights and copyright through seminars and conferences. The ERRA provides the library sector with services helping with applying the copyright law and legal deposit law in their libraries.
Arts Council England (ACE)
Arts Council England is the sector development organisation for the arts, culture and libraries in England. They are the primary source of project and programme funding and grants to libraries. ACE maintains a network of Regional Relationship Managers for libraries who provide information, guidance and support as well as promoting networking and partnerships.
Libraries Connected is the Arts Council-funded Sector Support Organisation for public libraries across the UK (with a central organisation in England and national committees in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland). Libraries Connected run a wide range of programmes and initiatives designed to strengthen public library service delivery, raise the profile of libraries and secure engagement and investment from key stakeholders.
Society of College, National and University Libraries (SCONUL)
SCONUL is a membership organisation for National, College and University Libraries. They support a range of programmes with a focus on securing long-term access to digital content, promoting diversity in the library sector and strengthening the impact and visibility of their member libraries.
Research Libraries UK (RLUK)
RLUK represent the UK community of academic and research libraries, with a particular emphasis on academic liaison, advocacy, representation and skills development as well as securing equitable access to e-content for their member libraries.
There are no library support organisations in Uzbekistan.
Zambia Library Consortium (ZALICO)
Zambia Library Consortium promotes Open Access in the country and builds capacities among its member organizations to set up and maintain Open Access repositories. It facilitates the access to affordable electronic resources to participating institutions.
