Policy on Malaysiana / Dasar Malaysiana
The aim of the policy is to ensure tracing, acquisition, documentation and preservation of Malaysiana Collection as a national intellectual heritage of Malaysia. It also aims to provide a Centre of Excellence for Malaysiana Collection in research, information services and publications pertaining to Malaysia.
National Library of Malaysia Policy on Reading Promotion 2013 / Dasar Galakkan Membaca Perpustakaan Negara Malaysia 2013
The overall goal of the policy is to ensure a well planned National Reading Programme and to inculcate reading habits through lifelong learning.
National Library of Malaysia Policy on Malay Manuscripts 2014 / Dasar Manuskrip Melayu Perpustakaan Negara Malaysia 2014
The aim of the policy is to collect, document and conserve the Malay manuscripts as the national heritage and to provide a national information centre for research services and to publish publications pertaining to Malay Manuscripts.
Information for Self-Reliance and Development: A Policy Framework for Libraries and Allied Information Agencies for Namibia
The policy was prepared by a Legislation Committee appointed by the Minister of Basic Education and Culture and approved by Cabinet on 2 September 1997. The policy covers:
  • strengthening the policy and legal framework for knowledge and lifelong learning;
  • improving the quality and effectiveness of knowledge management systems;
  • improving and strengthening equitable access to information and learning resources to ensure economic and social empowerment for communities and individuals;
  • establishing public ICT access through the nationwide library network and
  • improving access to and usage of both national and globally-sourced information through digital libraries and knowledge management systems.
Library and Information National Policy, 2007 / पुस्तकालय तथा सूचना सेवा राष्ट्रिय नीति, २०६४
The Library and Information National Policy (2007) is divided into eight main points. It provides a short background information about the library system in Nepal, long-term view, objectives, strategies, working policies, public libraries, the standards for the libraries and information centres, budget allocation system, data collection and framework for various types of libraries including the National library. The policy also mentions the formation of library board in Nepal and discusses the knowledge-based society.
The 4th Comprehensive Plan for Library Development (2024-2028) / 제4차 도서관발전종합계획 (2024-2028)
The purpose of this plan was to provide a clear direction for promoting both basic and advanced libraries through the establishment of a systematic national library development strategy. By addressing the limitations of current library policies, which have been implemented by various departments, it offered a vision and strategy for balanced library development based on collaboration and coordination. The plan proposed a mid- to long-term approach that would help libraries adapt to and thrive in the face of rapid social changes.
The Strategy of Consolidating and Modernizing the Network of Territorial Public Libraries: 2017-2020 / Strategia de consolidare și modernizare a rețelei bibliotecilor publice teritoriale 2017-2020
The Strategy envisons to strengthen and modernize the network of local public libraries in meeting the needs of users and communities, the opportunities of the digital age, strengthening the role of public libraries in the community, encouraging effective partnerships, stimulating innovative practices and promoting life long learning.
Executive Order of the President of the Russian Federation N 808 “On the Approval of the Fundamentals of State Cultural Policy” (24 December, 2014) / Указ Президента Российской Федерации от 24.12.2014 № 808 «Об утверждении Основ государственной культурной политики»
They outline the main directions of the state cultural policy and serve as the legal foundation for the development and execution of legislative and other legal acts of the Russian Federation, regulating the processes of cultural development as well as state and municipal programs. They are based on the Constitution of the Russian Federation. They define the goals and strategic objectives of the state cultural policy and determine the key principles of its implementation.
Executive Order of the Government of the Russian Federation N 326-p “On the Approval of the Strategy of State Cultural Policy of the Russian Federation for the Period up to 2030” (29 February 2014) / Распоряжение Правительства Российской Федерации от 29.02.2016 № 326-р «Об утверждении Стратегии государственной культурной политики на период до 2030 года»
The Strategy addresses the following key issues: strengthening and expanding the international outreach of Russian culture; preserving a common cultural space as an important element of Russian national security and territorial integrity; revealing cultural potential of various territorial entities and reducing regional imbalances; increasing the role of civil society institutions as subjects of cultural policy; raising the social status of the family as a public institution; preserving  cultural heritage and creating conditions for cultural development.
The national project “Culture” / Национальный проект «Культура»
The national project "Culture" was developed within the framework of the Executive Order of the President N 204 "On National Goals and Strategic Objectives of the Russian Federation through to 2024" (7 May 2018). It includes three federal projects: "Cultural environment", "Creative people", and "Digital culture". The curator of the national project is Olga Golodets, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, the head of the project is Vladimir Medinsky, Minister of Culture of the Russian Federation. For 2024, the project sets among the main goals:
  • to re-equip 660 municipal libraries according to the new set of standards;
  • to train 200,000 people at the centres for professional development in the field of culture;
  • to digitize 48,000 book monuments for the National Digital Library.
110 public libraries will be modernization (re-equipment) in 2019.
National Library Policy / السياسة الوطنية للمكتبات
There is no national policy for libraries in the UAE, but there are internal policies in some state libraries, including the Al Qasimia University Library. It provides a good study environment equipped with comprehensive collections of information, services, and reference resources. To achieve this goal, Al Qasimia University Libraries have established a "Code of Conduct" to which all library users are expected to abide. Sharjah Public Libraries are keen to provide high-quality and excellent services through which they achieve the trust and satisfaction of their visitors in a way that exceeds their expectations. Therefore, some laws and policies have been put in place to comply with them. The Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Library has set a number of policies to organize the library and ensure that its services are well provided. The National Archives and Library has also developed an integrated management system policy to provide services in an advanced and high-quality manner.
